Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service have partnered with Quit4Life, the local NHS stop smoking service, to offer a revolutionary pilot scheme to help Hampshire people to give up smoking whilst achieving a healthier lifestyle.
Smokers in Rushmoor have successfully completed the free 10 week pilot ‘Quit and Get Fit’ course, run by the fire service together with Quit4Life, which offered weekly support and medication to give up smoking followed by an exciting exercise class run by the firefighters.
Quit4Life are now pleased to announce that a brand new Quit and Get Fit course will be coming to Havant, starting on 25th April, at Havant Fire Station. The free course will run for 10 weeks and will provide support and medication to stop smoking, followed by the fire service-led exercise class suitable for all fitness levels.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service have been working with various partners in the health sector to deliver the NHS and Chief Fire Officers Association’s initiative ‘Fire as a Health Asset’. The initiative’s aim is to use the skills and knowledge of the Fire Service to reduce the demand on health services in the county.
Havant Fire Station is thrilled to now be hosting the Quit and Get Fit course, to help more people in their local community to lead a healthier lifestyle.
